LCI – Separatism: A law loopholes full law?

Asked about the amendment adopted last night by the Senate as part of the examination of the so-called “Separatism” bill, Matthieu Ragot recalled that the education code already allows the State to oppose the opening of private educational establishments for reasons relating to public order or the protection of children and young people.

The introduction of a new reason relating to France’s international relations and the defense of fundamental national interests is devoid of effective legal contribution and seems to be only a reaction to current events.

This amendment is in line with part of the bill, which evolved according to occasional media events that occurred during the period of its examination under the accelerated procedure. Given the sensitivity of the subject and the public freedoms at stake, the bill deserves more attention and perspective.
