White-collar crime: Thomas Amico returns to Veil Jourde

Veil Jourde announces the arrival of Thomas Amico, partner, to strengthen the litigation department’s long-standing expertise in white-collar crime and business criminal law. Joined by his team – Pierre-Henri Baert, associate and former Secrétaire de la Conférence, Charlotte Tenenhaus and Elisabeth Joanne, associates – he returns to the firm where he began his career as a lawyer.
Thomas Amico assists companies, executives, family offices, organizations and individuals in criminal proceedings in France and abroad. He has recently been involved in high-profile cases, as counsel to the “Madoff of Maine et Loire”, to former senator Aymeri de Montesquiou in the “Kazakhgate” affair, and the Guichard family, shareholders of the Casino Group. He has also developed a compliance and criminal risk prevention practice – internal investigations and internal alert management – which will complement the firm’s existing litigation services.
“We are delighted to welcome Thomas and his team to reinforce the firm’s flagship practice. His in-depth knowledge of the business world, his highly technical know-how and solid experience in high-stake cases are a perfect match with Veil Jourde’s DNA”, comments founding partner Georges Jourde. “The strong international focus of Thomas’ activity is fully aligned with the firm’s development strategy over the last few years”, adds Laurent Jobert, partner and member of the management committee.
Thomas Amico also assists his clients in strategic litigation, particularly in relation to corporate issues or shareholder disputes, as well as in all types of civil litigation (contractual disputes, unfair competition, inheritance, etc.).
Returning to the prestigious firm that trained me, during this period of renewal and growth, is an exciting prospect for my team and I. It is an obvious move, fueled by my attachment to Veil Jourde, and an exceptional opportunity for our clients. Our arrival will help consolidate the firm’s position as a key player in criminal law and business litigation
With the arrival of Thomas Amico and his team, Veil Jourde’s Litigation and White-collar crime department now counts 8 partners and 15 associates.
A member of the Paris Bar since 2009, Thomas Amico holds a Master’s degree in International Economics (Sciences Po Paris), a Master’s degree in International Business (London School of Economics), a Master’s degree in Economic Law (Sciences Po Paris) and two Master’s degrees in Economic Globalization Law and Financial Law (Université Paris I Sorbonne).
He began his career at Veil Jourde (2009 – 2013), before practicing at Linklaters (2013 – 2020) where he was head of the “Criminal Business Law and Compliance” practice for the last 3 years, and at Delsol Avocats as a partner (2020-2024).
He is also a lecturer at the École de Formation du Barreau de Paris and Sciences-Po Paris.
Thomas is individually ranked by Best Lawyers in the “Corporate Governance and Compliance Practice” category.
